Stagecoach

Cabernet Sauvignon

This vintage of Cabernet first offers dark notes of chocolate, cherries, crème de cassis and licorice, but opens up to reveal bright cooling flavors that are concentrated and powerful. Juniper, sage, fresh rosemary and jasmine tea marry with the fruit. The supple fine-grained tannins coat the palate with tremendous finesse, offering textural depth in a multitude of layers. A bright note of acid adds a brilliant freshness while flavors expand further creating an exceptionally perfumed finish.

Melanson Vineyard

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Elevation: 1200

Greg Melanson’s vineyard is very steep with rows running up and down the hill directly across from Colgin winery and vineyard. This estate is one of a handful of exceptional vineyards that share an enchanted slope on the rugged eastern ridges of the Napa Valley called Pritchard Hill. This 10.5-acres vineyard sits in peaceful isolation on a boulder-strewn hillside with remarkable views of Lake Hennessey and the Valley floor below.

Embracing the rugged terroir, Melanson takes advantage of rich Sobrante Loam soils loaded with volcanic rock, elevations averaging 1,200 feet, and distinct southern and western exposures. The gift of elevation places the vineyards above the fog line and allows them to receive maximum sun exposure throughout the day providing even ripening.

McLintock

Spring Mountain
Cabernet Sauvignon

Once again, it is bold and beautiful! McLintock’s organically farmed vineyard is harvested from some of the oldest Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon vines on Spring Mountain that grow at an elevation of 1,850 ft. This combination yields a small harvest that rewards us with a ripe, lustrous, and classic old vine Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, this wine exhibits floral notes with a touch of pipe tobacco. Voluptuously textured, full- bodied and opulent, dusty dark chocolate & raspberry fill the pallet with a white pepper finish. This wine will gracefully age over the next 20-30 years.

Keenan Vineyard

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Elevation: 1850

We are extremely pleased to present our Spring Mountain Cabernet from the historic Keenan “Big K” estate vineyard. Our block sits at the highest elevation on the property, providing a breathtaking vista. The Spring Mountain appellation is defined by vineyards that range from small to smaller, often hand-tilled on terraces and sloping meadows, and wineries hidden from view among dark forests and steep winding roads. Over the years, despite its limited space and remoteness, the appellation has produced an abundance of wines acclaimed worldwide for the unmistakable intense flavor and delicate, balanced tannins that are now the signature of Spring Mountain wines. Flint Knoll is proud to be able to work with the Keenan family and make wine from this legendary location. The appellation lies above the town of St. Helena on the eastern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains that separate Napa Valley from Sonoma Valley and the Santa Rosa Plain.

Spring Mountain

Cabernet Sauvignon

We believe this vintage to be a true Spring Mountain classic. This is our take on Clone 15 Cabernet Sauvignon that shows its power and elegance, layer by layer. On the nose, Spring Mountain’s pine forest and conifer notes present themselves. In the glass, brambly blackberry, dark chocolate, bay leaf and dried blueberries leave you curious to see what this wine will develop into. Big “K” as we call it, is a joyride of intensity, full-bodied with plenty of tannins. This wine will gracefully age over the next 20- 30 years.
