Our 2023 vintage offers a bold yet refined expression, with aromatic layers of wildflowers, cassis, tobacco leaf, and crushed stone. Seamlessly knit flavors of ripe fruit and fine-grained mountain tannins create a well-structured and beautifully composed palate.

As one of the rockiest vineyard sites in Napa Valley, Andrew Geoffrey’s soil composition of volcanic ash and rhyolitic tuff produces wines of remarkable power, bright acidity, and refined tannin structure. Our 2023 vintage greets you with a lifted and inviting bouquet where California lilacs and graphite intertwine with ripe blackberry and cassis notes, showcasing the floral-mineral nuance typical of Diamond Mountain terroir. On the palate, this Cabernet exhibits powerful depth—yet thanks to the volcanic terroir, it remains elegant and tension-driven. Nestled atop Diamond Mountain at ~1998 feet, Andrew Geoffrey Vineyard rests on a steep, rock-strewn slope within an appellation prized for its volcanic soils—rich in ash, tufa, and rhyolite—earning the nickname “jewels of Napa.” These soils yield wines of intense concentration, elevated acidity, and long aging potential thanks to low fertility and strong drainage. With only 13 planted acres, Andrew Geoffrey’s fruit often features in acclaimed Diamond Mountain bottlings from top estates.

'Marquess'
Pritchard Hill

Cabernet Sauvignon

Nestled on the rugged eastern ridges of Napa Valley, Melanson Vineyard is among a select few exceptional sites perched on the enchanting slopes of Pritchard Hill—undeniably one of the Valley’s finest terroirs. Known for its steep inclines and well-drained volcanic soils, Pritchard Hill consistently produces wines of remarkable depth and elegance. Our 2023 Marquess beautifully embodies this unique terroir, offering concentrated mountain fruit with layered aromas and flavors of dark berries, violets, and savory cedar. Bold and expressive yet elegantly balanced, it’s supported by fine, dusty tannins that provide structure and a refined finish.

AVA: Napa Valley (Pritchard Hill)
Vineyard: Melanson

Pritchard Hill is distinguished for producing robust, densely structured, and complex Cabernet Sauvignons. Since the 1980s, Greg Melanson has been cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon on Pritchard Hill. Flint Knoll sources its fruit exclusively from a single southeast-facing vineyard block situated on a steep, rocky slope, where the vines experience significant stress due to limited water and nutrient availability. This challenging terroir provides an optimal environment for the production of world-class Cabernet. The vines are planted at elevations ranging from 1,100 to 1,350 feet above sea level, in Sobrante loam and clay loam laden with volcanic rock.

Our 2021 Melanson Vineyard Marquess Cabernet Sauvignon exudes a beautifully complex bouquet of crème de cassis, ripe blue fruits, cacao powder, tobacco and graphite. Hitting the palate it’s powerful, full-bodied, and concentrated with wonderfully integrated acidity, a chalky minerality, polished tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish.

Our 2022 Marquess exhibits a deep garnet-purple hue, and offers a richly layered bouquet featuring aromas of black cherry, dark currants, mocha, and sweet tobacco leaves. On the palate, the wine is powerful, vibrant, and full-bodied, supported by creamy tannins and culminating in a flawlessly structured finish. In every aspect, it embodies the quintessential character of a Pritchard Hill Cabernet.

Howell Mountain

Cabernet sauvignon

Situated at high elevation above the valley floor, Howell Mountain is defined by its thin, rocky, and nutrient-poor volcanic soils. These challenging conditions naturally stress the vines, leading to smaller berries, resulting in enhanced concentration and phenolic complexity. Howell Mountain consistently produces wines with deep color saturation, firm tannic structure, and exceptional aging potential. Our 2023 vintage is a true expression of this rugged terroir—intensely concentrated with layered notes of wild mountain berries, subtle spice, and a mineral-laced, earthy core. It achieves a refined balance between phenolic richness and structural precision, offering both power and finesse.

Our 2023 McLintock Cabernet Sauvignon is complex and structured, showcasing a signature bouquet of violets, dark cherries, plums, and bouquet garni. It masterfully balances power and elegance, delivering a luxuriously textured, rich, full-bodied, and opulent wine, framed by smooth, well-integrated tannins.

Instrumental in establishing the Stags Leap District AVA, we source from the coveted old vines of Steltzner Vineyard. Farming is done here by well-regarded vineyard manager Jim Barbour and his expert team.

NOBLE RIGHT

MERLOT

Made in a Right Bank Bordeaux style, Philippe Melka blends together both varietals and vineyards to create a symphonic compilation of aroma and flavor. Our Spring Mountain Merlot gives this wine its rich, powerful flavor, while our Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and a layered complexity. Our Oak Knoll Merlot lends the velvety texture and profound elegance inspired by the wines of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion. This wine is deep purple-hued, with a rich nose of dark blue fruits, black currants, cassis, crushed violets, leafy herbs, and warm baking spice. It is a full-bodied Merlot with a stacked, concentrated mid-palate, lush mouthfeel, and a ripping, powerful finish.

Varietal: Merlot
AVA: Spring Mountain & Oak Knoll
Vineyards: Keenan Mailbox & Shifflett Ranch
Region: Napa Valley

Our Spring Mountain Merlot comes from Keenan’s Mailbox Vineyard. Planted to 11 acres of Merlot in rocky soils, this mountainside vineyard produces some of the finest Merlot in Napa Valley. Sited above the dense layer of fog that creeps up the Napa Valley most evenings, the vineyard warms earlier in the morning and temperatures remain warm throughout the night. The combination of these warm temperatures , steep hillside vine rows, and gravelly soils promotes stress on the vines, leading to increased intensity of flavors and aromas in the finished wine.

Shifflett Ranch is nestled against the Mayacamas Mountains just south of Yountville. Regarded as the southernmost true alluvial fan of the Mayacamas Range, the volcanic soils and rocky hillside aspects are ideally suited for Bordeaux varietal grape growing.

Flint knoll

Blanc

Our take on an exquisite Bordeaux blanc-style Sauvignon Blanc from the Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley. The unique gravelly loam and volcanic-based soils give this wine a distinct schist-like texture and pronounced minerality. Barrel-fermented and aged for 17 months; it is creamy, complex, and captivating. It has beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, zesty citrus, pineapple, vanilla, and subtle herbal undertones. This carries to a medium-bodied white wine with an elegant, layered mouthfeel, vibrant acidity, and remarkable depth.

Varietal: 97% Sauvignon Blanc, 3% Sémillon
AVA: Rutherford
Region: Napa Valley

Élevage: 17 months in 100% French oak barrels, 40% new

The 2023 growing season was very long, cool, and even featuring healthy yields and no heat spikes, and the wines show this in their freshness, purity, and elegance. The winter was one of the coldest on record, and the Spring started cool and wet, with heavy rains saturating the soil. Bud break didn’t occur until mid/late April, about two
weeks behind average. Cool and even temperatures contributed to a terrific and heavy fruit set. Verasion began at the end of July and did not finish until the third week of August, about three weeks behind average. October and November brought warmer
temperatures and harvest went smoothly under idyllic conditions until mid-November. Our 2023 wines show remarkable purity and finesse along with depth, concentration, and perfectly polished tannins.
